There’s a mystique around drinking absinthe because of its former-illegal status in the U.S. and alleged hallucinogenic properties. For me, I actually just like the strong licorice taste. (I really like Ouzo, too.)
Absinthe is now legal to drink in the U.S., and it’s starting to show up in bars, like the one we went to last night: Sidebar.
As for the hallucinogenic properties, worry not, because there are none.
